At 18:00 this evening, the Portuguese Institute of Atmosphere and Sea (IPMA) updated their weather forecast for Madeira until Christmas Day.
According to the IPMA, until the 25th, the weather in the archipelago of Madeira will be influenced by an anticyclone located northeast of the Azores, slowly moving towards Central Europe, and by a depression, in the high levels of the troposphere, centered between the archipelagos of Madeira and the Canary Islands.
According to the statement issued, showers are expected, which may be strong and accompanied by thunderstorms on Monday, the 23rd. The wind will be moderate to strong from the northeast, with gusts up to 75 km/h, while gusts up to 100 km/h are expected in the highlands, decreasing in intensity from the afternoon of the 23rd.
Therefore the archipelago is under a yellow warning for wind until 09:00 on the 23rd and a yellow warning for rain from 06:00 to 21:00.
