Hamsters loose in the hold leave TAP plane stranded in Ponta Delgada 1

A TAP plane, the Airbus A321neo, CS-TJR, has been detained since Wednesday at Ponta Delgada Airport, in the Azores, after 132 hamsters broke free from the boxes where they were transported and became loose in the hold, says the portal Aviação TV, in a Facebook post.

According to the page, “ground maintenance teams have been trying to recapture all the animals for four days, which prevented the aircraft from returning to Lisbon for safety reasons. On Saturday, 16 of these rodents were still loose inside the Airbus 321.”

I dread to think what damage they could wreak on wiring looms etc!
