The regional secretary of Health and Civil Protection was recently in the United States of America in search of “new technological solutions for the new Madeira Central and University Hospital”, thus justifying the seven-day trip to that North American country “where make the best developments in this area”, he maintained.

The objective, he highlighted, is to “transform the hospital’s entire IT system”. This visit should be seen as a first contact, with technicians from the USA expected to travel to Madeira soon to contact SESARAM professionals in this area.

In this regard, Pedro Ramos guarantees that he already has “very promising results for the coming years” in the area of ​​digital transformation.

The official recalled the fact that the new hospital in the Region, under construction in the Santa Rita area, is a KIWI (Knowledgeable, Intelligent, Wise, Interoperable) health unit, that is, very much linked to knowledge, intelligence hybrid, using cutting-edge technology.

In this sense, it reinforced the commitment to better training and governance of the various services, in the continuity of training and differentiation of human resources, as a way of providing a more adequate response to the resident and visiting population in terms of health.

This trip by Pedro Ramos to the USA took place between the 8th and 14th of October and cost at least eight thousand euros.
