Removal of stranded sailboat at Praia Formosa requires crane operation 1

A crane company from Madeira is removing the French sailboat that ran aground on Praia Formosa. The operation began with the removal of the mast, now followed by the lifting of the vessel using a large crane, which will place it on a vehicle with a trailer for transport to the dry dock.

The action is being monitored by the Maritime Police, with several agents on site. According to the commander of the Maritime Authority, Bruno Ferreira Teles, the responsibility for the operation lies with the sailor and owner of the boat.

The movement of the machines and the apparatus on site have attracted the attention of some curious people, who closely follow the work. The wind, some rain and waves are making operations difficult.
