MIGUEL ALBUQUERQUE
President
Miguel Filipe Machado de Albuquerque was born in Funchal on May 4, 1961 (64 years old) and has been since 2015, the third president of the Regional Government of Madeira, after winning the internal elections of the PSD Madeira in the same year. Before, between 1994 and 2013 he was mayor of Funchal. With a degree in Law, he worked between 1986 and 1993, when he left the law to be No. 2 in the municipality, later rising to leadership. He started in politics in 1988, when he was elected deputy in ALRAM and chaired JSD Madeira between 1990 and 1992.
JORGE CARVALHO

Born in Porto da Cruz, where he was born in 1968 (57 years old), Jorge Maria Abreu Carvalho has been with Miguel Albuquerque since the first hour, being the only secretary with consecutive performance since 2015. Regional Secretary in the area of Education, he graduated in Physical Education and Sports in 1995 from the University of Madeira and has, since 2000, a master’s degree in Sports Sciences – Sports Management from the same institution. His first experience as a government official was between 2007 and 2011, as regional director of Youth.
