The National Union of Drivers and Other Workers threatens a new 48-hour strike if its demands are not accepted. In a statement sent to the press, the union states that it has asked for new meetings with ACIF and the Regional Government to reach an agreement and not move towards a strike.
Manuel Oliveira, from the union Lisbon delegation, says that lies and disinformation are being sown, and asks Horários do Funchal to “be careful with what they say.” The union denies that only 17 HF drivers have joined the strike. “The HF Administration does not say that Public Service Drivers currently work as 2 people (Drivers + Collectors) and do not receive the 2 salaries corresponding to these functions, much less receive an average of €1650.00 per month.”
Therefore, talks are underway for new meetings.
