This morning there was a great deal of activity on the Funchal quayside to prepare for the completion of the Funchal Marina.
As the FN announced a year ago, the works were suspended until the new construction of the refueling station. It only started operating in March of this year and next week the demolition and removal of the deactivated fuel tank will begin.
Tecnovia workers, this Saturday morning, with the help of a Grove crane and a platform that transported an excavator, placed this machine at the site where this last phase of the work will take place.
This entire operation was only possible via the Funchal pier, as the remaining area has already been completed. In the coming months, the pier will be the “shipyard” that will receive the rubble and construction materials for the completion and construction of a staircase to access the Marina.
When APRAM announced last year that the inauguration was scheduled for the end of March, the FN pointed out that this structure would only come into operation at the end of the summer.
